Welcome to Medicine Wood.

Our homestead is nestled on three acres in the Mississippi River Valley of Minnesota, where gentle pastures give way to sloping hills dotted with ancient Burr Oaks.

Life on the homestead is far from glamorous, but there is beauty to behold.

Each day promises the opportunity to learn, get your hands dirty, and surround yourself with nature.

In the summer months, we tend to a sizeable no-till vegetable garden and fruit orchard, where we grow enough organic produce to sustain us through the year. Winters are harsh and best spent indoors, but allow time to work on restoring the 1860 farmhouse and plan for next year's crop.

We have learned a great deal in our short time here at Medicine Wood, not just about farming and food preservation, but also about ourselves and how we derive fulfillment from our lives. Little else compares to the satisfaction of going to bed with bellies full of delicious foods grown with your own hands.

We have many dreams and ambitions for this place; most of all, we hope to be good stewards of the land, so future generations may experience its' splendor as we have.
